YouTube fame is a plausible goal that with hard work and a
person capable of selling their product can eventually achieve. The site allows
viewers to potentially garner the attention of any of their millions of users.
Doing so, however, requires a lot of time and energy.
You cannot gain YouTube fame without attracting viewers.
YouTube is saturated with content, so catching people’s attention is key. The
video’s thumbnail, the picture representing the video, should be indicative of
the video itself. This picture can be visually interesting and attractive but
shouldn’t be misleading, or else viewers are less likely to keep coming back.
The title of the video is extremely key in pulling in
viewers. A succinct and self-explanatory title is appealing because it quickly
conveys information. In combination with a thumbnail related to it, the title
can make or break a video. Another way to go is making a bold and enticing
statement such as “you will not believe what happens” or “funniest video of all
time” that don’t reveal much of anything except that it is worth checking out.
Describing and adding “tags” to the video is also necessary
to get subscribers and be a successful YouTuber. Use a paragraph or two to lay
out or set up what happens in the video. It also reflects very well if you
express gratitude in your subscriptions to the subscribers and viewers that you
already have. Tags are keywords added and linked below the video that describes
your video. If the video is vlog for example where you describe your fantastic
day you just had, you may tag “fun” “exciting’ “happy”, etc. Because tags take
you to other videos with the same tags, tagging similar things to your favorite
YouTubers or event blatant references are helpful, so long as they are
appropriate for the video.
So you have done these things and had a few hundred, and then
a few thousand subscribers and people want to advertise on your channel. Ads
and sponsorship are NEEDED to achieve fame like someone such as PewDie Pie or
Markiplier. Not only does sponsorship bring in money, but in a way legitimizes
your channel to viewers. Using the money from advertisement toward the growth
of your channel is also essential. The higher quality will at the very least
keep the subscribers that you already have around if not bring in more.
Alternatively, better yet, you can take that money and use it to advertise your
channel on YouTube or any other outlet.
There it is. YouTube fame is not as easy recording yourself
with a webcam, uploading the footage and waiting for the response. Everything
from the content itself to the tags and thumbnail used for the footage is part
of the video’s success, and without putting tender love and care into each
video, YouTube stardom is not possible.
